A functioning feedback loop has four components: signal capture, signal interpretation, decision authority, and revision cadence. Remove any one of them and the loop breaks.
Signal capture is about what data you are collecting and from where. This is broader than most teams assume. It includes quantitative channel data, yes, but also qualitative signals from sales conversations, customer support interactions, and the people running campaigns day to day. GTM execution is getting harder partly because the signals are more fragmented across channels and teams, which means the capture process has to be more deliberate, not less.
Signal interpretation is where most teams lose the thread. Raw data does not tell you what to do. Someone has to make sense of it in context, distinguish noise from signal, and connect it to a strategic question. This requires judgment, not just analytical capability. Most teams run interpretation meetings that collapse all three questions into one conversation, which means you end up jumping to decisions before you have agreed on what the data means, or spending the whole meeting on the data layer and running out of time for the decision. Separating the three questions, even loosely, produces better outcomes.
The other structural requirement is a single owner for the interpretation. Not a committee. One person who is accountable for synthesising the signals and presenting a recommended action. Committees interpret data by consensus, which tends to produce the interpretation that offends the fewest people rather than the one that is most accurate.

None of this requires a sophisticated tech stack or a large team. The most effective feedback loops I have seen were built on simple, consistent processes rather than elaborate systems.
Start by documenting your strategic assumptions. One page, no more. List the five to ten assumptions your current strategy rests on. Assign each one a signal or set of signals that would confirm or challenge it. Assign an owner to each signal. That is the foundation of your loop.
Set a weekly signal review. Fifteen to thirty minutes. The owner of each signal presents what they are seeing. The group agrees on what it means. Tactical adjustments are made on the spot or flagged for the monthly read.
Set a monthly strategic read. Sixty to ninety minutes. Review the signals from the past four weeks in aggregate. Assess whether any strategic assumptions need to be revised. Make channel and messaging decisions based on what you have learned. Document what changed and why.
Set a quarterly reset. Half a day. Review the strategy itself, not just the execution. Ask whether the assumptions you started with still hold. Ask whether the market has changed in ways that require a different approach. Use tools that surface competitive and search intent data to pressure-test your positioning against what the market is actually asking for. Make the big decisions here, not in the weekly call.
The discipline is in maintaining the cadence when things are busy. The temptation is always to skip the weekly review when there is a campaign to launch or a client to manage. That is exactly when you need it most, because that is when the gap between strategy and execution widens fastest.
