The most useful skill in SEO isn’t knowing the facts. It’s knowing how to evaluate the quality of the evidence behind them. A few principles that have served me well across twenty years of working with data in marketing contexts.
Ask what the data was measuring and whether that matches what you’re trying to understand. The headline number may be the same. The applicability to your situation is completely different.
